Zelenskyi meets paratroopers fighting on Oleksandrivka frontline at 80th brigade
The president spoke with commanders about the supply of reconnaissance and attack drones, the need for long-range artillery, and small radar stations. They also discussed additional direct funding for brigades, stronger motivation for soldiers to return from absence without leave, and training and encouragement for troops. A separate topic was a set of reconnaissance, preparatory, and technical measures to protect pilots on the front line.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that each of the issues discussed today would be worked through with the military.
The head of state congratulated the troops on Ukraine's Independence Day, thanked them for their service, and presented them with state awards.
The president awarded the service members the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3rd class, and "For Courage," 1st-3rd classes, as well as the medals "For Military Service to Ukraine," "Defender of the Motherland," and "For a Saved Life."
