Ukrainian freediver Sadurska wins another gold at CMAS 2026 World Championship
The Freediving World Championship, held under the auspices of the World Underwater Federation (CMAS), is taking place in Roatan, Honduras. The world championship runs from August 14 to 27 and includes competitions in various depth-diving disciplines.
Sadurska entered the constant-weight-without-fins event as the main favorite. The Ukrainian is the current holder of the CMAS world record in this discipline, at 88 meters.
At the 2026 World Championship, Kateryna announced a depth of 77 meters and reached it. This result was enough for her to win world championship gold; she beat her closest rival, Italy's Alessia Zecchini, by 12 meters. France's Jade Agboton finished third after reaching a depth of 64 meters.

Background
For Sadurska, this is her third medal at the CMAS 2026 World Championship and her second gold. Earlier, the Ukrainian also won the constant-weight with fins discipline with a distance of 108 meters.
Kateryna Sadurska is a Ukrainian swimmer and 2016 Olympian who has become one of the world's leading freedivers.
A two-time European champion and multiple medalist, she holds numerous world records across disciplines.
Under CMAS, she is a six-time world champion, winning free immersion (FIM) in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and constant weight without fins (CNF) from 2022 to 2024.
In September 2025, she set a new Ukrainian record in constant weight bi-fins (CWTB), diving to 97 meters to win the world title.
