Russian forces strike Chernihiv residential area with drone, killing a woman and her 4-year-old daughter
According to law enforcement officers, Russian troops attacked Chernihiv with a drone at around 5 a.m. on August 26. Residential buildings came under fire.
The strike caused a fire in a private residential house where a woman and her two daughters, aged 4 and 14, were staying at the time of the attack. The fire destroyed the house completely.
In addition, outbuildings and a nearby shop caught fire.
The head of the City Military Administration also added that the bodies of the 39-year-old woman and her 4-year-old daughter were found under the rubble during search and rescue operations.
"The older child was taken to the hospital with injuries," police said.
Law enforcement officers and other specialized services are working at the strike site. Police are documenting the consequences of the attack, recording the destruction, and collecting evidence of the Russian strike.
The Chernihiv City Council expressed condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the victims and said it shared the pain of the family that lost loved ones because of Russia's attack on civilians.

It should be noted that Russian troops struck an apartment building in central Chernihiv with a drone on August 24. A fire broke out after the hit. According to updated information, 20 people were injured in the enemy attack, including three children.
