Zelenskyi meets Ukrainian World Congress delegation to discuss steps to strengthen global support for Ukraine
Photo source: Office of the PresidentVolodymyr Zelenskyi stressed that it is especially important now to work with governments, parliaments, and communities in other countries to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, increase pressure on Russia, and expand financial support for Ukraine. According to the head of state, every country matters, especially those located far away — in North and South America, Asia, and Oceania.
"Air defense, finances, sanctions — these are probably the key things we need to get through this winter. But the voice is very important, of course, as are political and informational support," the president emphasized.
Representatives of the Ukrainian World Congress thanked Volodymyr Zelenskyi for his leadership. They noted the special attention paid to unity during Independence Day events, as they declared 2026 the Year of Unity of the Ukrainian People. More than 400 organizations worldwide have already signed the declaration of unity. All of them are uniting around four main goals: to work actively for Ukraine's victory, its postwar reconstruction, the protection of its territorial integrity, and the strengthening of the global Ukrainian world.
In addition, representatives of the Ukrainian World Congress promised to intensify their efforts to protect Ukraine's skies, increase sanctions pressure on Russia, and support Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
"We will continue to focus our work on raising funds and advocacy so that Ukraine receives the maximum possible military assistance. We also came to thank Ukrainians who work in Ukraine every day and support Ukraine. We want to thank them for their courage and bravery," said Ukrainian World Congress President Paul Grod.
The head of state awarded the Order of Merit, Third Class, to Yurii Klufas, president of the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada, and the President of Ukraine's "Golden Heart" distinction to Christian Borys, founder of Saint Javelin, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and journalist.
