Berlin activists deploy anti-drone net near Brandenburg Gate to show support for Ukrainian cities
The action took place on August 24 near the Brandenburg Gate. New Age Defence and the Vitsche association organized it.
The purpose of the open-air installation was to draw attention to the lives of civilians in Ukraine's frontline cities, the organizers said. In settlements near the front line, nets are stretched over many public spaces to protect against Russian drone attacks.
That is why activists used an anti-drone net as a symbol of the protection Ukrainian cities need from Russian drones.

Activists placed information posters on the net to tell visitors about the lives of civilians suffering from Russian drone attacks in frontline areas.
The organizers said that after the action ends, the net will be sent to Ukraine. They plan to use it on the front line.
A march from Potsdamer Platz to the Brandenburg Gate was also planned in Berlin on Monday evening. During it, activists planned to call on German authorities to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities from Russian attacks, which they describe as "a central component of European security."
"Ukraine needs Patriots to protect the sky, Ukraine needs more drones so that we can maximize our production capacity and defend people technologically. And that is exactly what this demonstration is about," Kateryna Mykhalko told DW.
