Von der Leyen arrives in Kyiv to announce new defense initiatives for Ukraine
Von der Leyen emphasized that Ukraine has made notable progress on the battlefield and that, in her assessment, the situation is moving in a positive direction.
During her stay in the Ukrainian capital, the European Commission president intends to present new initiatives aimed at deepening cooperation between Ukraine's and the European Union's defense industries. The initiatives aim to expand defense industry production capacity to enable faster, larger-scale production.
They also plan to discuss Ukraine's further path toward EU membership and measures to prepare the country for the next heating season.
