Ukraine receives 10 Czech-made training aircraft for military pilot instruction

The aircraft will significantly lower training costs compared with using combat aircraft and help speed up pilots' transition to advanced Western military aircraft in line with NATO standards.

The ALTO NG is equipped with modern avionics that allow future pilots to practice both basic flight skills and critical military procedures.

The Ukrainian defense ministry said this approach will improve pilot readiness while modernizing Ukraine's air defense system, and making it more efficient and technologically advanced.

The aircraft delivery was made possible through international support:

The ministry said one of the key outcomes will be the development of a modern domestic pilot training infrastructure.

Running training programs in Ukraine will reduce reliance on foreign training programs, improve the use of state resources, and increase self-sufficiency in preparing new Air Force personnel.

The defense ministry thanked the Air Force Capability Coalition, the Czech government, the Dárek pro Putina foundation, and Czech citizens for their continued support of Ukraine and their contribution to the defense of Ukrainian airspace.

As previously reported, pilots from one of Ukraine's tactical aviation brigades are already practicing combat missions on an F-16 flight simulator provided by the Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic earlier delivered the first F-16 combat aircraft simulator to one of Ukraine's tactical aviation brigades.

Ukraine has also received mobile F-16 simulators designed to speed up pilot training, improve the interception of aerial targets, and strengthen the country's air defenses.
