Ukrainian forces strike oil depot and two refineries in Russia, 1,500 km from the front

According to the president, Ukrainian forces hit the Poltavskaya oil depot in Russia's Krasnodar region during an overnight operation. The facility is located about 300 kilometers from the front line.

Later that morning, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck two oil refining facilities in Ufa:

Both facilities are located approximately 1,500 kilometers from the combat zone.

The president added that Ukraine is carrying out what he called a "long-range sanctions plan" and thanked the military who "ensure the accuracy" of those strikes.

The SBU later confirmed the results of the attack on the Russian oil refineries.

According to the agency, the first signs of damage have already been confirmed. Photos and videos show at least two separate fire outbreaks on the facilities' grounds.

"The crude distillation units are burning. These units are the heart of the refineries and handle the primary stage of oil processing," the SBU added.

Earlier reports said Ukrainian drones attacked Russia's Krasnodar region, where a fire broke out after the strike. The Poltavskaya oil depot is considered strategically important for the region.

Powerful explosions were also reported in temporarily occupied Crimea following the attacks. Reports said the Tavriiska and Balaklava thermal power plants were attacked. Local authorities later reported disruptions to electricity supplies in the region.
