Ukrainian side still hasn’t received from the United Nations any information regarding murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka.
According to the Ukrainian Human Rights Ombudsman, the UN does not respond to the inquiries.
"We are in communication with the ICRC. Regarding the United Nations, we have a worse situation. I send letters and requests. I did it on the first day, right after the tragedy. I personally haven’t received any signal, even an unofficial one. I can publicly confirm this", the Human Rights Ombudsman reported.
As a reminder, after mass murder of Ukrainian POWs in Olenivka, the families of Ukrainian military servicemen kept prisoners by the Kremlin, have announced their intentions to demand the resignation of the head of the ICRC. The family members of POWs complain that the Red Cross still hasn’t disclosed either the exact number of victims murdered in the Russian captivity or the information about injured Ukrainian soldiers kept in Donetsk hospitals at the Russia-controlled territory.
Meanwhile, the Azov Regiment representatives described the Russian strike in Olenivka as “the public execution”. They claimed that they would identify those responsible for attack against the penal colony, where Ukrainian soldiers mostly serving in Azov, had been detained.
