Ukraine receives $60 mln for education under Japanese government guarantees
The Ministry of Finance said the funds became available after the World Bank officially confirmed that Ukraine had met the required indicators.

The current tranche is part of the third additional financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), provided under a guarantee from the government of Japan. The total amount of this loan is 286 million US dollars.
Ukraine and the IBRD signed the relevant loan agreement in June 2026.

As Rubryka reported, Ukraine earlier received almost 600 million US dollars under the joint World Bank project SPIRIT, the "Social Protection for Inclusion, Resilience, Innovation and Transformation Project." The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development provided the funds under an 860 million US dollar loan agreement signed by Ukraine and the IBRD on June 2, 2026.
The SPIRIT project will run from 2026 to 2030 and will serve as an important tool for strengthening Ukraine's social protection system's resilience under martial law and during postwar recovery.
