Ukraine returns 13 more people from Russian occupation, including elderly and less mobile citizens
Lubinets stressed that behind every return there is a separate human story and major joint work: constant communication and coordination with everyone involved in this complex process:
According to him, the 13 evacuees include a married couple from Kherson who left the city for their summer house just before the invasion on February 24, 2022, and found themselves under occupation. The oldest person is 87, and the youngest is 27. Some of them will be hospitalized immediately upon arrival for further treatment.
"An important role in today's evacuation was played by the international company with Ukrainian roots, MHP, and its founder and CEO, Yurii Kosiuk. I am sincerely grateful for their support, assistance, and compassion!" the ombudsman wrote.
The official also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross, representatives of state bodies, humanitarian organizations, doctors, social workers, and every specialist involved in the process.
In addition, Lubinets assured that the Ombudsman's Office continues its work to return Ukrainians to their homeland.
