It is worth noting that Russian troops regularly carry out air attacks on Odesa and the Odesa region. They use ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as attack drones, for these strikes. Civilian and energy infrastructure in the region are among the targets.
Khmelnytskyi region
In addition, the occupiers attacked the Khmelnytskyi region with jet-powered drones on the evening of September 2.
Serhii Tiurin, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, said air defense forces operated in the region during the air raid alert and shot down Russian aerial targets.
"Air defense forces were operating in the Khmelnytskyi region during the air raid alert. There are shootdowns. Details later," Tiurin said.
He added that debris fell on the territory of one enterprise in the Khmelnytskyi district as a result of air defense operations. A truck and a warehouse caught fire as a result.

The Air Force had earlier said that jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles were moving toward the city.
Rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine localized the fire on the enterprise's territory.
The falling debris injured a truck driver. Doctors recorded shrapnel wounds to the man's back. He is currently in a state of shock. Medics are providing the injured man with the necessary medical care.
Zhytomyr region
Also, late on the evening of September 2, another attack by Russian troops damaged civilian infrastructure in the Zhytomyr community.
Vitalii Bunechko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, said Russian troops continue to terrorize the region. Officials currently know about destruction at civilian sites in the Zhytomyr community.
Rescue crews from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and emergency medical teams were working at the sites of strikes and debris falls.
Officials are still clarifying information about possible casualties or deaths.
The regional military administration once again urged residents of the region not to cover the aftermath of Russian strikes.
Authorities asked people not to film or publish photos and videos of air defense operations or destruction online, so as not to help the enemy.
Residents of the region are also urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to stay in shelters.
BackgroundRussian troops have repeatedly struck the Zhytomyr region. In particular, on the afternoon of August 19, Russian jet-powered drones attacked Zhytomyr. Officials recorded a hit on the building of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region. Two police officers were killed in the attack, and at least 20 people were injured.
