The regional head added that the audience applauded not only Oleksandra's skill but also her incredible inner strength.

Background

In May 2022, during a Russian missile strike, the girl was injured when a recreation center in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district was destroyed. She suffered severe injuries, including bone fractures and multiple shrapnel wounds, and lost the ability to walk because of injuries to her legs. The girl spent 15 days in a medically induced coma and, after months of treatment, underwent rehabilitation in Austria, where she learned to walk again after receiving a prosthesis.

Despite all the difficulties, she continues to develop in sports, inspiring many people with her resilience and will to live. Her participation in the tournament became a powerful demonstration of her incredible strength of spirit.

At the end of 2025, Paskal received the State Award "Future of Ukraine" from President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

Last year, seven-year-old Oleksandra Paskal, who lost a leg during a Russian missile attack on the Odesa region, took part in her first competition.
