United to win: Zelenskyi and Latvia’s new PM sign Drone Deal in Tallinn

Andris Kulbergs spoke about his government's priorities and assured Ukraine and the Ukrainians currently living in Latvia of his support.

The president of Ukraine and the prime minister of Latvia signed the Drone Deal. This is already the sixth agreement in this format that Ukraine has concluded with its partners. The Drone Deal opens up many opportunities for Ukraine and Latvia in joint production, primarily in defense cooperation, which is needed amid current security challenges.

Latvia will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, including support in drone, air defense, and missile defense. The agreement provides for:

Volodymyr Zelenskyi briefed Kulbergs on Ukraine's air defense needs and thanked Latvia for its support for the PURL program. The Latvian prime minister said his country was preparing its next contributions.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed sanctions pressure on Russia, above all, stronger sanctions against Russia's shadow fleet, which uses, among other routes, the Baltic Sea to transport energy resources in circumvention of sanctions.Background

It should be noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in Estonia to take part in the Ukraine–Nordic and Baltic countries summit.
