Russia launches mass strike on Kyiv region, killing eight at railway platform in Brovary district
The military issued the first warnings about the threat at around 00:20. According to monitoring resources, Russian forces used Iskander missiles, S-400 missiles, North Korean KN-23 missiles, and Zircon missiles. After the missile strike, the enemy also launched jet-powered attack drones toward the capital.
After the overnight attack by Russian forces, authorities recorded the damage in the Brovary, Bucha, and Fastiv districts of the Kyiv region. According to regional authorities, this strike became one of the most tragic for the region:
In the morning, the head of the Brovary District Military Administration, Vitalii Bihun, said eight people were killed by a Russian strike directly at the Kvitneva railway station. Their last train was delayed.

As of 7:00, rescuers were still dealing with the aftermath of the attack. Work continued at four locations in the Brovary district, two in the Bucha district, and one in the Fastiv district.

Ukrzaliznytsia also reported that emergency repair work was continuing at logistics infrastructure facilities in the Brovary district after the overnight attack.
According to preliminary data, the bodies of victims were found on the grounds of a railway platform near the logistics centers that came under attack. Due to the heavy shelling, train traffic and station operations were temporarily suspended, and passengers and staff were evacuated. The full restoration of traffic will be announced separately.
Background
As Rubryka wrote, overnight into August 5, Russian invaders launched a massive missile strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. In the capital, a woman was killed, dozens of people were injured, and an ammonia leak occurred in the Holosiivskyi district after a strike on a non-residential area. Rescuers quickly contained the leak.
