Ukrainian drone operators hit Russian Mi-28 during flight over Belgorod region
It happened near the settlement of Vyazovoye in the Belgorod region.
Background
The Mi-28 is a Russian attack helicopter designed to destroy armored vehicles, human resources, and air targets at low altitudes. It carries a 30 mm cannon, guided anti-tank missiles, and unguided aerial munitions.
It is worth adding that in November 2025, Special Operations Forces fighters shot down a Russian Mi-8 helicopter with a long-range drone.
It should be noted that Ukrainian intelligence recently confirmed the destruction of a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet at the Belbek airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea. Drone system operators of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine struck the aircraft and an airfield launcher.
Also, on July 3, the Security Service of Ukraine announced a successful drone strike on the Saky and Hvardiiske military airfields in temporarily occupied Crimea. At least seven Russian aircraft were hit, as well as hangars containing drones and aviation equipment. According to the special service, Su-30SM and Su-30 fighter jets, as well as Su-24 frontline bombers, were stationed there.
