Russian attacks hit three regions, killing two in Zaporizhzhia and injuring five in Izium
Zaporizhzhia region
After the strike, the Kushuhum community lost power. According to the regional head, the Russian attack also damaged private homes.
Power engineers began restoration work as soon as the security situation allowed. According to Fedorov, no one was injured in the community.
The State Emergency Service reported that nine fires broke out in Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs over the past day. Unfortunately, one person was injured.
In addition, firefighters put out a fire in dry vegetation in an open area covering more than 2.5 hectares.
Chernihiv region
In the Chernihiv region, according to the State Emergency Service, a 59-year-old woman was injured in Russian attacks.
"The enemy attacked the Koriukivka district twice. As a result of falling UAVs, two outbuildings caught fire, a truck crane and a combine harvester were damaged, and a warehouse building and several tonnes of roughage were destroyed," the service said.
Rescuers said they extinguished all the fires.
Kharkiv region
The occupiers also attacked Verbivka in the Kharkiv region twice. According to Vitalii Karabanov, head of the Balakliia city military administration, the central part of the village of Verbivka came under Russian attack at around 9:00 p.m. on August 17.
The first strike caused fires in two private households and outbuildings. It also damaged a power line. After the second strike, vegetation caught fire in a park area.
According to preliminary information, no one was injured.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, also reported on Telegram that five people, including a child, were injured in Izium in the Kharkiv region as a result of an overnight enemy attack.
