Türkiye's Anıtkabir opens Ukrainian-language audio guide with Olena Zelenska's participation
During the opening ceremony, Olena Zelenska emphasized the importance of the Ukrainian language appearing at one of Türkiye's most significant memorial sites.
"So it is a great honor and very important that a Ukrainian audio guide begins operating here today. The Ukrainian community in Türkiye, which has grown significantly because of Russia's invasion, will be able to hear the story of Atatürk and his country in their native language.
And Ukrainian will sound alongside English, French, Chinese, and Spanish, because it has the right to be available at the world's leading landmarks on an equal footing with other languages," she said.
The First Lady also thanked the museum team and Ukraine's diplomatic mission in the Republic of Türkiye for their work on the project.
During her visit to the memorial complex, Olena Zelenska laid flowers at the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and recalled one of the statesman's key principles: "Peace at home, peace in the world" (Turkish: Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh).
"It means calm, harmony, and the absence of discord within the country, as well as friendly relations with all other states. Atatürk believed that every state's borders and rules must be respected.
I sincerely wish peace at home for both of our countries. And, of course, peace in the world," the wife of the president of Ukraine concluded.
Background
As Rubryka reported, since the beginning of 2026, the Ukrainian language has become more accessible in museums, tourist spaces, and cultural institutions around the world. New audio guides have been launched in five European countries, and Ukrainian bookshelves have opened in another 15 countries.
It should be noted that the creation of Ukrainian-language audio guides in museums and landmarks of global significance began in 2020 at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine. In 2024, 18 Ukrainian-language audio guides were launched, and hundreds of books were provided for Ukrainian bookshelves.
