Ukraine and France launch €20 mln BRAVE FRANCE defense tech program

The partnership agreement was signed by Patrick Aufort, Director of the French Defense Innovation Agency, and Brave1 Chief Operating Officer Iryna Zabolotna, with Catherine Vautrin, France's Minister for the Armed Forces and Veterans, in attendance. Ukraine and France have committed to a joint budget of 20 million euros, with each contributing 10 million euros.

Under BRAVE FRANCE, Ukrainian and French companies will work together to develop solutions for critical battlefield and defense industry needs. The program will focus on advanced defense technologies, including:

The partners are finalizing the program's priority areas and technical requirements, while setting up a joint Executive Selection Board and expert review panels.

A standout feature of the program is that new technologies will be tested through the Test in Ukraine platform, giving developers the chance to prove their systems in real combat conditions.

The partners first announced plans for a joint grant program in February 2026. The agreement signed at Eurosatory 2026 officially launches the initiative.
