One killed, seven injured in overnight drone attack on Zaporizhzhia

Preliminary information indicates that Russian forces carried out five strikes on the city.

Fedorov said the attack sparked fires in a residential building and a shopping center. An educational facility was also damaged.

"Nine residential buildings and several non-residential structures were damaged in the overnight enemy attack in Zaporizhzhia's Oleksandrivskyi and Kosmichnyi districts. These include five apartment buildings and four private homes," Fedorov said.

According to him, the blast wave shattered windows and damaged roofs. By morning, emergency crews had boarded up broken windows in five apartment buildings, three private homes, and one non-residential building with OSB panels.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that one person was killed in the overnight strike. Fedorov also said that seven people sought medical treatment following the attack.

Emergency response crews have completed the initial phase of recovery work. Additional efforts to address broken windows will continue in response to resident requests.

Situation in the region

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 931 strikes on 50 settlements across the Zaporizhzhia region.

Russian aircraft conducted 28 airstrikes on Zarichne, Ternuvate, Komyshuvakha, Yasna Poliana, Rizdvianka, Lisne, Tavriiske, Yurkivka, Novoselivka, Vilnianka, Novoivanivka, Shyroke, Kopani, Hirske, Babashy, Omelnyk, Verkhnia Tersa, Rivne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Danylivka.

642 drones of various types, most of them FPV drones, targeted Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, Balabyne, Malokaterynivka, Lysohirka, Rozumivka, Richne, Novoyakovlivka, Mykhailo-Lukasheve, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Vozdvyzhivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Rybne, Verkhnia Tersa, and Olenokostiantynivka.

Russian forces also launched eight strikes with multiple-launch rocket systems against Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novoivanivka, and Novoselivka.

Another 253 artillery strikes hit Richne, Novoyakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Verkhnia Tersa, Sviatopetrivka, and Vozdvyzhivka.

Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding district killed one person; 14 others were injured. Authorities received 72 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.

As previously reported, Russian drones attacked Zaporizhzhia on the morning of June 16, hitting civilians and critical infrastructure facilities.

On June 14, Russian forces also struck passenger vehicles in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing a woman.
