Ukraine is ready to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries if Russia stops attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure — Zelenskyi
"I am grateful to all our emergency services, who are always there for our people and deal with the aftermath of Russia's brutal attacks. Search and rescue operations in Zaporizhzhia, where Russia killed 23 people, including four children, were completed only this morning. Yesterday, Russians struck a medical facility in Kharkiv. Overnight, Russia attacked civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and energy facilities. This morning, Russian forces struck a five-story apartment building in Sloviansk, completely destroying one entrance. People may be trapped under the rubble," Zelenskyi said.
According to the president, Russian forces launched around 1,450 guided aerial bombs, 75 missiles of various types, and more than 1,640 attack drones over the past week alone. Approximately 60% of the drones were jet-powered.
He added that Russia alone is responsible for the war in Europe.
"It is already possible to stop attacks on energy infrastructure today, but Putin does not want to do so. Ukraine will be ready to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries if Russia stops attacking our energy infrastructure. Any de-escalation steps must be reciprocal and backed by genuine guarantees," Zelenskyi emphasized.
