At the start of his meeting with Zelenskyi in New York on September 22, US President Donald Trump stated that he planned to discuss strikes on Russian oil refineries with the Ukrainian leader.
Even earlier, on September 13, Trump urged Zelenskyi to stop strikes on Russian diesel fuel, saying these attacks were causing shortages.
Zelenskyi, in turn, responded to US leader Donald Trump, who once again repeated his call to end the war. According to Zelenskyi, Ukraine stands ready to take "de-escalation steps," but only under certain conditions.
The following day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that achieving an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine presents a difficult task. At the same time, he noted that Washington would seek such a truce. Rubio added that the United States considers it important to reach a "limited truce" between the parties and will continue its efforts toward that end.
