Ukrainian forces deliver 4 tons of food to residents of occupied Oleshky by drone

"In occupied Oleshky, the Russians are holding about 2,000 of our people hostage, including nearly 50 children. They are forced to survive without food, electricity, or water," the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration said.

He stressed that Russian forces have effectively deprived the city's residents of the opportunity to leave.

"The Russians have effectively deprived them of the opportunity to leave this hell — and that is the most frightening part," Prokudin said.

According to him, instead of public statements, the Ukrainian side has focused on providing practical assistance to civilians. Since March, food has been systematically delivered across the Dnipro River by drones, in cooperation with a unit of the 11th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and soldiers of the 34th Separate Marine Brigade "Borysfen."

"Instead of making loud statements, we chose the path of concrete action. Since March, together with a unit of the 11th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and the defenders of the 34th Separate Marine Brigade 'Borysfen,' we have been systematically delivering food across the Dnipro River using drones," Prokudin added.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration said that one of the largest food delivery operations to residents of the occupied city was carried out recently.

"Working with the 30th Marine Corps, the 'Hrim' tactical group, the 34th Marine Brigade 'Borysfen,' the 'Bolharychi' unit of the 11th National Guard Brigade, the 34th National Guard Regiment, and the 79th Border Guard Detachment, we delivered about 4,000 tons of food to 100 designated locations across the city at once," Prokudin said.

At the same time, he said, Russian forces are trying to obstruct the delivery of aid.

"Russian troops shoot down drones carrying food and cynically seize or resell food intended for children and elderly people," Prokudin said.

According to him, the occupiers also detain Oleshky residents for receiving humanitarian aid packages, throw them into basements, severely beat them, and subject them to violence.

Prokudin stressed that the deliberate blocking of humanitarian aid and the creation of famine among civilians constitute war crimes that have no statute of limitations.

He also assured that the Ukrainian side would continue making every effort to help residents of occupied Oleshky.

As a reminder, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha recently said there was a critical humanitarian situation in temporarily occupied Oleshky, Kherson region. According to him, civilians, including children, remain without sufficient food, medicine, clean water, electricity, and medical care. He called on the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and other international organizations to ensure humanitarian access and the safe evacuation of residents.

As Rubryka reported, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations called on Pope Leo XIV and international organizations to help provide humanitarian aid and evacuate residents of Oleshky.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that Russia has for a long time failed to confirm its readiness to organize a humanitarian mission to evacuate civilians from Oleshky.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has drawn the international community's attention to the serious deterioration of the humanitarian situation in some areas of the temporarily occupied parts of Kherson region due to crimes committed by Russian forces, which grossly violate international humanitarian law.

Particular concern has been raised over the situation in Oleshky, Hola Prystan, as well as Stara Zburivka and Nova Zburivka in Kherson region, where there are no adequate conditions to meet the basic needs of local residents, including children. Russian occupation forces are deliberately blocking people's departure and obstructing the supply of basic consumer goods, food, and medicine.

The population has declined from 40,000 to about 6,000 people, while the population of Oleshky has fallen from 24,000 to about 2,000.

These included Oleshky, Hola Prystan, Stara Zburivka, and Nova Zburivka, where people remain without food, drinking water, and medicine.
