Leaders of Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, and Norway arrive in Kyiv

Nausėda also emphasized Lithuania's support for Ukraine. He noted that his country supports Ukraine not only during its national holidays, but also going forward.
"Lithuania supports Ukraine today — as it celebrates its national holidays — and always," the Lithuanian president stressed.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported that the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway, as well as other high-ranking representatives, had arrived in Kyiv.
"On the eve of our Independence Day, we feel that we are not alone. Our allies are with us.
This morning, I was pleased to welcome at Kyiv railway station the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway, as well as other high-ranking representatives."
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said on Sunday morning, August 23, that he was "good to be back in Kyiv with fellow NB8 leaders."
"Thirty-five years ago, Estonia restored its independence and Ukraine declared its own. Today, we celebrate Ukraine's National Flag Day and meet for the NB8-Ukraine Summit," Michal emphasized.
He also stressed that the Russian dictator "hopes that time is on his side."
"Our job is to prove him wrong. Ukraine must have everything it needs to defend itself and decide its own future," Michal added.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr also emphasized that Ukraine "continues its fight for freedom, independence, and the right to determine its own future."
"Every day, the Ukrainian people live with the consequences of the brutal war waged by Russia. Amid the escalation of missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, civilians are systematically becoming targets," he said upon arriving in the Ukrainian capital.
He added that this is why it is important for Norway to continue showing solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
As reported, the next meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing" is scheduled for August 24. During the meeting, the leaders are expected to reaffirm their determination to strengthen support for Ukraine so that it can defend itself against Russia's aggression.
On August 22, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul also arrived in Kyiv. His visit comes ahead of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
