Pamela Anderson's Feathered '80s Haircut Was Inspired by French Cinema

Just when we thought Pamela Anderson was planning to make her cute blonde bob her new signature hairstyle, she goes and switches it up on us—during Paris Fashion Week, no less!

The The Naked Gun star debuted not one but two new hairstyles while in Paris, starting with a fresh, coppery hair color. But that (honestly shocking) color transformation wasn't the only surprise Anderson had in store. She had also booked a haircut, and debuted a fun, feathered '80s-style chop while sitting front row at the Mugler show—a cut that looked parfait with the broad shoulders of her black dress and big gold earrings. The cut is all about light, airy texture, hitting at the nape of her neck with flippy, feathery fringe and a certain je ne sais quoi quality that feels joyful and a little rebellious, much like Anderson herself.

Anderson told WWD that her new cut was inspired by French cinema; if you've seen her Criteron Closet episode, you'd know she's a massive cinephile with a particular love of French film, and she also lived in the south of France for a few years. “I'm preparing for a film, so I'm playing with the color,” the star explained, adding that she brought a list of references to her hair stylist, including the French actor Marlène Jobert. “Why not get it done in France with a great French hairdresser because it's inspired by French cinema?” Anderson said she's “having fun” with her hair and alluded to more changes in the works. “I'm just playing with it… it's gonna be different every day.”

Just one day prior, Anderson attended the Tom Ford show with her newly dyed red hair worn in a sleek crop, slicked back and to the side and styled with sunglasses and an all-black ensemble—très Parisian indeed. She didn't share if the new color was for the aforementioned film role, but it's fun to see the ultimate blonde bombshell dip her toes into the redhead world.

Anderson cheekily noted that her hair is going to be “different every day,” so you know we'll be keeping a very close eye on what the beauty chameleon does next.
