Angelina Jolie has a ton of tattoos, including the coordinates where her children were born and snippets of meaningful text, and her collection continues to expand. In August 2023, she got a small design on her middle finger, and now it appears that she's added another piece to the lineup, a reference to the beloved book and movie The Outsiders.

When Jolie appeared at the premiere of the new Broadway musical version of S.E. Hinton's book, which she produced, we were wowed as usual by her golden blonde hair, stunningly bright red-orange lipstick, and mustard yellow cape and slip dress, but one detail in particular immediately stood out: fresh ink. The words “Stay Gold” have been tattooed in bold black script on the side of her arm, nestled next to a set of Roman numerals and a delicate swath of text. Sure, it could be a temporary tattoo in honor of the show, but the pink skin around it certainly makes it look like it's a real, just-out-of-the-artist's-chair tattoo.

Because all of Jolie's tattoos are so meaningful to her, it wouldn't be surprising if she did mark the occasion of her first Broadway production with commemorative ink. “Stay gold” is one of the most iconic quotes from the book and movie, and it's also a song in the new musical. (It's also a very popular tattoo design, given the popularity of The Outsiders.)

We'd be remiss not to mention the rest of Jolie's premiere look, because she was literally glowing from head to toe. Her soft blonde ombré has never looked better, and her eyes were tightlined with black liner for depth and definition. The star occasionally wears red lipstick, but IMO, she should wear it at all hours of every day, because this crimson color looks incredible on her, especially with the rich, warm tones of her outfit. She's taking “stay gold” to the next level.
