Selena Gomez's Sleek, Slicked-Back Braid Just Goes On and On and On...

Selena Gomez just wore what may be her longest braid ever. Gomez was all glammed up to celebrate the launch of Rare Beauty's new Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil, a sibling of the wildly popular — and Best of Beauty-winning — Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. For the event, Gomez went sleek and chic with a slicked-back braid that started at the crown of her head and wove all the way down to her waist. The braid was courtesy of stylist Orlando Pita, who pulled Gomez's hair back in a high and tight ponytail before braiding it for a snatched look. Gomez doesn't often wear her hair in braids, so it was a fun departure from her hairstyle repertoire, not to mention one that will be perfect for the warm summer days on the horizon.

To take the braid to the next level, Gomez and her go-to makeup artist Hung Vanngo whipped up a monochromatic eye and lip to define Gomez's eyes and show off the new lip color. In a cute transformation video of Gomez before and after her glam, Vanngo shared that he used the Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in Honesty, a nude brown. Vanngo then carried that color palette through to her eyes with a warm brown eye shadow and cut crease, defined cheekbones, and a long flick of sharp liquid liner. When paired with black skinny pants, a black silk shirt, and a black faux fur coat, the final result was pure sophistication with a hint of shine, just like the Lip Oils themselves.

Gomez's party look is a big departure from her most recent high-profile engagement — aka the actual wedding dress she wore while filming Only Murders in the Building on March 21. In lieu of a sleek braid, the star wore a romantic undone updo and swapped the lip oil for a bright red lip. We love a versatile icon!
