Russian jet-powered drone hits six-story building in Kyiv, injuring seven
Since the morning, Ukraine's Air Force had repeatedly warned about groups of jet-powered UAVs moving toward the capital. At 10:35 a.m., Klychko reported that air defense forces were operating on Kyiv's right bank.
The mayor urged Kyiv residents not to leave safe places and to remain there during the attack.
After the strike, emergency services began heading to the site.
Klychko later provided an update on the situation in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
"In the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a UAV hit a six-story residential building, part of the building was destroyed. A fire also broke out in a nearby three-story building," he added.
The Kyiv City Military Administration also reported damage to a medical facility in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
Authorities also recorded damage in the Holosiivskyi district. A fire broke out on the grounds of an educational institution there.
At 11:26 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration said three people were known to have been injured in the enemy attack. They are receiving medical assistance.
A few minutes later, Klychko said the number of injured people in Kyiv had risen to four.
"Medics hospitalized two of the injured, while others are receiving outpatient care," he said.
At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia said that, as of that moment, no hits to railway infrastructure in central Kyiv had been recorded.
"Please use information only from Ukrzaliznytsia's official channels," the company added.
As of 12:00 p.m., according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, seven people were known to have been injured.
"Services continue working to eliminate the consequences," the administration said.
Background
As Rubryka reported, Russian troops attacked the Kyiv region overnight on September 2. A Russian attack drone destroyed two townhouses in Vyshneve, Bucha district. The attack caused a fire and destroyed parts of the two buildings.
That night, Russian troops also carried out a massive attack on Odesa. Eight people were injured, including a child. A residential building, cars, office buildings, and two educational institutions were damaged.
In addition, on the evening of September 1, Russian troops attacked three warehouses in the Bucha district in the Kyiv region, causing fires and destruction. Rescuers extinguished the fires and, while working at the scene, were also struck repeatedly.
