After the Divine Liturgy, participants held a ceremonial presentation of the rushnyk representing Ireland in the international project "Rushnyk of Unity – Rushnyk of Victory."

The event brought together craftswoman Tetiana Hryshchenko, who embroidered the rushnyk on behalf of Ireland by hand, Vasyl Kornitskyi, pastor of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Dublin, and Yaroslav Ruban, consul of Ukraine in Ireland.

In his speech, Yaroslav Ruban emphasized that today Ukrainians, regardless of where they live, must remain united, because their strength lies in unity, the statement said.

The Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland said:

It was the 'Rushnyk of Unity – Rushnyk of Victory' that became one of the first symbolic projects designed to bring Ukrainians together across the country."

The event's artistic program included poetry readings and songs. In particular, participants in the presentation jointly performed "Song about the Rushnyk" ("My dear mother").

During the event, organizers raised 325 euros for humanitarian projects of the Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland.

The organizers also said they had already received requests to hold project presentations in Cork, Donegal, Cavan, and County Kerry.

In addition, the Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland announced that it would hold a Forum of Ukrainian Organizations in Ireland in the autumn, "which will become a platform for dialogue, cooperation and the formation of a shared vision for the development of the Ukrainian community."

The international project "Rushnyk of Unity – Rushnyk of Victory" currently brings together 110 separate rushnyks totaling 165 meters.

Background

It should be noted that in June, the Ukrainian community and diplomats in Edinburgh welcomed the large-scale project "Rushnyks of Unity" — a single embroidered cloth 270 meters long, which arrived in the Scottish capital after being exhibited in Tallinn.

As reported, the cultural and artistic relay "International Embroidered Rushnyk of Unity 'The Blossom of Vyshyvanka'" was handed over to the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States.

Later, the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago, United States, hosted a ceremony to receive and unfurl the embroidered rushnyk of unity, sent from the Ternopil region as part of the international project "The Blossom of Vyshyvanka."

In addition, the longest Ukrainian rushnyk of unity, "Ukraine in the Palms of Our Hands," was created on the Irpin embankment in the Kyiv region to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unite the Ukrainian people, and preserve traditions.
