Ukrainian boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk visits the White House and meets with US President Donald Trump

She shared a photograph from the meeting, showing Trump and Usyk shaking hands.

"President Donald Trump in the Oval Office with heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk," the White House aide captioned the photo.

Neither the US administration nor the boxer has revealed the content of their conversation or provided further details about the meeting.

At the same time, it is known that mixed martial arts bouts are scheduled to take place on the grounds of the White House as early as June 14. The event is being organized as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of US independence, which the country will celebrate on July 4.

Approximately 4,300 invited guests are expected to watch the fights ringside on the White House South Lawn. In addition, around 85,000 tickets have been sold for viewing the sporting event from the nearby Ellipse park, where the bouts will be broadcast on large screens.

It is also worth noting that in February 2025, Volodymyr Zelenskyi brought a championship belt from Oleksandr Usyk as a gift to Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House. It was during that visit that the well-publicized dispute between the Ukrainian leader and the US President occurred. Both later responded cryptically when asked what happened to the belt. Usyk himself only remarked: "I know which belt it is, but I simply can't tell anyone anything."

Later, Usyk repeatedly addressed the American president publicly. In October 2024, the Ukrainian boxer asked Joe Rogan, host of the popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, to ask then-US presidential candidate Donald Trump about helping secure the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

In addition, in April 2025, Usyk urged Trump to "open his eyes" to the war in Ukraine, calling some of his statements about Ukraine "complete nonsense."

In June 2025, the Ukrainian boxer also invited the US president to visit his home in Ukraine so that he could better understand what ordinary Ukrainians experience day and night under barrages of Russian drones and missile attacks.
