Russia’s attack damages two TV channels’ premises in Kyiv, injuring media workers
At the time of the attack, the TV channel was broadcasting live as part of the national telethon United News ["Yedyni novyny" – ed].
The main strike hit the newsroom and offices of the TV channels. A fire broke out in the building, and rescuers from the State Emergency Service have already extinguished it.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyi said the building had sustained significant damage and that the relevant services were working at the site of the strike.
Rescuers and medics are continuing to work at the site. The injured are receiving the necessary assistance.
Background
As Rubryka wrote, on the night of September 8, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Ballistic missiles attacked the capital from three directions, while Russians launched missiles and jet-powered drones at the region. In Kyiv, authorities reported two people killed and others injured. Five of the injured were hospitalized, and two of them were in serious condition. The State Emergency Service reported fires and destruction in five districts of Kyiv.
Later, it became known that Russia's overnight combined attack on Kyiv injured 19 people and killed three residents of the capital. Authorities recorded damage to more than 50 sites in different districts of the city.
