United to win: Joint venture in Europe starts producing Ukraine’s Bars jet drones with 1,000-kilometer range and speed above 700 kilometers per hour

At the same time, according to the developer, there are no other obstacles to scaling up production. He links additional development opportunities to the state's permission to create joint ventures.

Bars is a jet-powered drone with a strike range of up to 1,000 kilometers. Its warhead can weigh up to 60 kilograms, and its maximum speed exceeds 700 kilometers per hour.

The UAV's design allows it to be used as a modular platform. Depending on the amount of fuel and the weight of the warhead, the drone can perform missions in deep-, middle-, and front-strike configurations.

According to the developer, the localization level of Bars production exceeds 74%. In addition, the company has already completed final tests of its own engine.

The drone also uses artificial intelligence to guide it to the target.

The developer also emphasized that the drone has undergone more than 40 "official engineering" upgrades and iterations since the first basic model.

Further modernization focused on increasing the strike range and the warhead; at the same time, the core design established during the initial engineering calculations remained in place.

Background

It should be noted that back in July, it became known that Russian troops were increasingly using jet-powered drones and Banderol loitering munitions, whose speed characteristics are close to those of cruise missiles and complicate the work of Ukrainian air defense.

The enemy's main efforts are currently focused on producing and scaling up newer Geran-4 and Geran-5 jet-powered drones.

Their airframe has already been designed with the installation of a more powerful Telefly LX-WP-160 jet engine in mind. According to available data, the Geran-4 has a wingspan of about 3 meters and a length of approximately 3.5 meters.

Its external dimensions remained close to the previous version, but its takeoff weight increased from about 350 to 450 kilograms. The new engine should allow for a higher cruising speed without sacrificing flight range, and, according to available information, the range has also increased.

It should be noted that Ukraine has begun combat testing its first jet-powered interceptor drones, designed to destroy Russian Shaheds with jet engines. One of the new Ukrainian systems can reach speeds of more than 600 kilometers per hour.
