Khmelnytskyi region artist sets European record with Ukrainian coat of arms collection
It was then that her European record in the 'Art' category was officially registered — the 'largest original series of artistic State Coats of Arms of Ukraine created in a single artistic concept,'" the city council said.
The unique series consists of:
Each coat of arms has its own ornament based on Ukrainian regional embroidery. The works are also decorated with natural stones and minerals, which form part of the author's artistic concept for the series.
In total, the craftswoman used more than 60 types of natural minerals and stone materials. They include: quartz, rock crystal, amethyst, citrine, rose quartz, pyrite, topaz, garnet, amazonite, fluorite, lapis lazuli, chrysoprase, calcite, tourmaline, tanzanite, sapphire, opal, malachite, and amber.
In this way, the original series combines Ukraine's state symbols with regional embroidery ornaments and natural materials. The central element of the composition is a wooden Coat of Arms of Ukraine measuring 110 cm in height, while the other 25 coats of arms are made of metal and have the same size — 10×10×15 cm.
This is not the first achievement linked to Oksana Zhurakovska's artistic work. Earlier, the craftswoman set a Ukrainian record for the "largest series of paintings made from natural Ukrainian stones and minerals with elements of national embroidery."
The new project "Strength in Unity" became Zhurakovska's next original work, in which she combined natural stones and minerals with elements of Ukrainian embroidery and state symbols. During its first public presentation in Kyiv, the series was officially registered as a European record in the "Art" category.
Background
It should be noted that a giant Coat of Arms of Ukraine covering 60,000 square meters was sown at the Digital Field agricultural innovation testing ground. Modern innovative precision farming technologies turned an ordinary field into a work of art.
It was also reported that farmers in the village of Seredynka in the Vinnytsia region created a large coat of arms made of mustard. They first sowed the entire field with the crop, and then shaped the national symbol by harvesting it with a combine.
