In total, the study collected data on more than 170 Russian- and foreign-made components found in used missiles, 82 Russian and two Belarusian companies, more than 100 of their officials and employees, and 121 pieces of foreign technological equipment that these companies use.

According to intelligence data, despite Russia's attempts to localize production, the 9M723 missile still contains a significant share of foreign components. Russian companies manufactured only a quarter of the 140 disclosed parts.

Their manufacturers include the US and Taiwanese companies DM&P Electronics, Xilinx, which is part of AMD, Atmel, part of Microchip Technology, Winbond Electronics, Micron Technology, and Analog Devices.

Intelligence officials also said that during one of the combined strikes on Kyiv this summer, Russia used upgraded 9M723-2 ballistic missiles for the first time. These missiles are also known by the codename "Iskander-1000" and belong to the Bora-M system.

According to Ukraine's military intelligence, the upgraded missile has a larger engine and, accordingly, a larger launcher. This allows it to hit targets at a range of up to 550 kilometers, while the 9M723-1 has a range of 390 kilometers.

"The upgraded missile, thanks to its larger engine and, accordingly, larger launcher, can hit targets at a range of up to 550 kilometers, compared with 390 kilometers for the 9M723-1. The remaining parts of the missile are identical to the 9M723-1," Ukraine's military intelligence said.

Intelligence officials stressed that all disclosed companies, individuals, and facilities must become priority targets for sanctions policy.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Defense Ministry published an interactive 3D model and data on companies involved in the production chain for 9M727 cruise missiles, which are part of the Iskander-K operational-tactical missile system.

Ukraine's military intelligence also named manufacturers of components for the ballistic Iskander that still remain outside sanctions.

Ukraine's military intelligence also said how many ballistic missiles Russia can use against Ukraine each month. According to intelligence data, Russia's military-industrial complex plans to produce up to 700 9M723 ballistic missiles for the Iskander operational-tactical missile system in 2026 — the same number as last year. Monthly production rates for these missiles remain at 55–60 units.
