Solutions to win: Azov soldiers and influencers raise nearly €6,000 during CS2 show match

The esports event marked the 12th anniversary of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade, and all funds raised will support the unit as part of the "Eastern Barrier" campaign.

On the military side, Team 4308 fought for the common goal. It was represented by servicemen with the call signs "Shtangen," "Makas," "Donbas," "Safolk," and "Dafi." They defeated a team of Ukrainian influencers.

"For the fighters, such games are an opportunity to switch off a little, spend time together and, at the same time, do something useful for the unit and the fundraiser," the brigade wrote.

The servicemen played against comedians Valentyn Mikhienko, Mykola Zyrianov, and Vlad Kuran, singer Sadsvit, and streamer Filip Tremba.

Background

It should be noted that overnight on May 18, Ukrainian team Natus Vincere (NAVI – "Born to Win") won the IEM Atlanta 2026 Counter-Strike 2 grand final, defeating Germany's GamerLegion.

In 2011, the Ukrainian team became the first winner in the history of The International, the world's biggest Dota 2 tournament.

In 2021, NAVI's CS:GO team won the PGL Major Stockholm.

The team became the first in esports history to win three major Counter-Strike tournaments in one year: World Cyber Games 2010, Intel Extreme Masters, and the Electronic Sports World Cup.

The Ukrainian esports team Natus Vincere (NAVI) also won the first Counter-Strike 2 championship, held in Copenhagen. For winning the tournament, NAVI received 500,000 US dollars and secured places at the BLAST Premier World Final and the Esports World Cup 2024.

In addition, Ukrainian esports team NAVI (Natus Vincere) triumphed at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024 in Counter-Strike 2, a tournament with a 250,000 US dollar prize pool.

Earlier reports said Ukrainian esports team NAVI won the Esports World Cup Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

It should be recalled that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has recognized esports as an official sport in Ukraine.
