Selena Gomez's Sunset Frost Nails Capture Golden Hour in a Manicure

There are some red-carpet manicures that announce themselves immediately, and then there are other, more subtle manis that reward you for looking a little closer. Selena Gomez’s nails at the 2026 Emmys are very much the latter.

They don’t compete with her devastatingly gorgeous gown, her sparkling jewelry, her mermaid-like hair, or low-key makeup; instead, they seem to pick up little bits of each one’s vibes to create the perfect complement. The result is a pearly, iridescent look with flashes of pink, peach, and gold that feels like you’re watching the sun go down in 10 little mirrors.

Nail artist Tom Bachik named the look “sunset frost” due to its pearly pink gleam with a warm golden shift that becomes especially noticeable as the nails catch the light. It’s frosted without looking icy, and golden without being a literally gold manicure—a distinction that becomes abundantly clear next to Gomez’s gold gown.

To create the look, Bachik used two coats of Essie Frost Yourself, which the brand describes as “a diamond dust-infused blush pink nail polish with an iridescent gold flip pearl.” He followed with Essie’s top coat and cuticle oil for even more glow. And that’s it! You could totally do that at home.

Gomez’s makeup and hair were similarly restrained, featuring long, loose waves and barely-there makeup. Nothing feels overly constructed, and no one element is the focal point. It’s just one overall lovely look—and we'll be copying it ASAP.
