Cynthia Erivo's Colorful Croc French Manicure Is a Jewel-Tone Masterpiece
Dorothy's rainbow wasn't a huge plot point in the Wicked movies, but it's definitely one of the key elements of the Oz story. And while Cynthia Erivo may have left Oz behind for new roles, a little trace of said rainbow remains… on her manicure!
The Oscar-nominated actor is known for her incredible nail art; we still think about some of the designs she wore during her Wicked press runs, and we continue to take notice of what she's wearing on her nails and when. For Paris Fashion Week, Erivo took a basic French manicure motif to a whole new world of color and texture by adding a cool croc detail to her multicolored tips.
Erivo prefers a long, stiletto-shaped nail, and her manicure, which she wore to several shows—including Dior and Chloé—stuck to that shape. Each tip was painted a different vivid, jewel-tone color, including ruby red, emerald green, sapphire blue, and topaz orange, plus an amethyst purple. Erivo's nail artist didn't stop there, however; they added a croc effect atop the bright colors to give them an extra dose of luxurious texture. Though it doesn't seem like a multicolored manicure would be the best pick for an outfit-changing event like Paris Fashion Week, it's actually genius, because the different hues manage to match everything!
Though Erivo is all about bedazzled, bejeweled nail art, including the aforementioned molten gold Oscar manicure with a clock charm embedded into one design, she's also a fan of the French tip—with a very Cynthia spin, of course. Shortly before her 2025 Tonys hosting gig, Erivo was spotted in a unique curved two-tone French design in shades of Dorothy-esque ruby. For more colorful mani inspo, peek at Dua Lipa's recent French, which included a whole painter's palette of summer-meets-fall hues on the base and tips. Ooh la la indeed!
