Putin Doesn’t Only Claim Donbas: ISW Reveals The Kremlin’s Territorial Appetites

From Donbas to Odesa. The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) named the real territorial appetites of Russian dictator Putin, UATV English relays.

ISW analysts emphasize that Moscow doesn’t limit its claims against Kyiv to Donetsk region alone. To justify his demands, the Russian dictator cites his own interpretation of history, repeating the old propaganda claim of “one people.”

According to the Institute for the Study of War, when speaking of the lands of supposedly “historical Russia,” Putin likely means the so-called “Novorossiya.” This is a fabricated concept of a region in southern and eastern Ukraine. The Kremlin tries to present it as an inseparable part of Russia. It covers the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

Earlier, German Ambassador to Ukraine Boris Ruge stated that over four and a half years of full-scale war, Russia has not once demonstrated readiness for serious peace negotiations. Instead, the Kremlin continues to make demands that effectively amount to Ukraine’s capitulation, and to attack Ukrainian cities.
