Russian Losses Reach 1 To 20, And The Defense Forces’ Position At The Front Is The Best Since 2023
The position of Ukraine’s Defense Forces at the front is currently the best it has been since 2023. The situation for Russian occupiers is steadily worsening, with the loss ratio in certain sections reaching 1 to 20 in Ukraine’s favor. Former “Aidar” battalion platoon commander Yevhen Dykyi shared this, UATV English reports.
He noted that the actual state of affairs at the front differs dramatically from the reports of Russia’s senior military leadership.
“The picture of the real front and Gerasimov’s reports to dictator Putin are diverging at an incredible pace. But it’s precisely on the basis of these unrealistic reports that decisions are made. From that ‘universe,’ orders come down to the ground, through which Russian losses keep growing. For us, this system is a big plus,” Dykyi said.
According to the speaker, Ukrainian forces have managed to seize the initiative and shift the dynamics of combat operations.
“Today our position at the front is the best it’s been since 2023. The situation hasn’t just substantially improved — it’s improving every day. For the first time in a long while, we’re de-occupying significantly more territory than Russia manages to capture during the same period,” he emphasized.
The former “Aidar” battalion platoon commander stressed that the introduction of new tactics and the reform of troop command were key factors behind this success.
“The main thing is the loss ratio. During Operation ‘Vivaldi,’ it was brought down to 1 to 20 in some sections, and averages more than 1 to 10 across the district. At such a rate of losses, and without a new mass mobilization, the Russian army will have completely lost its combat capability by spring — they simply won’t have any trained personnel or commanders left. We’ve established new tactics and, by reforming the army right in the middle of combat, we’re gradually seizing the initiative along the entire front line,” the speaker noted.
He also added that the critical situation at the front is forcing the Kremlin to look for ways to apply pressure outside the battlefield.
“The Russians are in a critical situation at the front, so they’re making a desperate attempt to win through two components: missile terror against Ukraine’s civilian population, and the active use of foreign-policy leverage, counting on ultimatums and pressure. They’re trying to achieve what their army on the battlefield is no longer capable of delivering,” Dykyi summarized.
