Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, And Kenya Report Russia Drawing Their Citizens Into War Against Ukraine
Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Kenya have publicly reported cases of their citizens being drawn by Russia into the war against Ukraine. Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service reports this, UATV English relays.
According to accounts from relatives and statements by state officials, men who travel to Russia for work are being lured into the army under false pretenses or forced to sign military contracts.
“Recruiting foreigners for the war against Ukraine is becoming not only a humanitarian but also a diplomatic problem for Russia. Foreign governments are increasingly publicly acknowledging that their citizens are ending up in Russia’s army under circumstances that may indicate fraud or coercion, and are seeking their return.
Stories that previously remained a problem for individual families are turning into a subject of international negotiations and are damaging Moscow’s reputation, exposing the methods it uses to draw foreigners into the war against Ukraine,” the statement says.
It should be recalled that several African countries have asked Ukraine to return their citizens who fought on Russia’s side and were taken prisoner by Ukraine. Kenya insists that its citizens were victims of fraud and human trafficking.
