Solutions to win: Military evacuates wounded soldier from front line using heavy hexacopter for first time

As noted, the wounded infantryman served in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The military recounted that he sustained injuries while at a position.

Under these conditions, the military decided to use a drone for the evacuation. They chose a heavy hexacopter from the Ukrainian company Gurzuf Defence, which provided the equipment free of charge for the operation.

Preparation for the mission involved technical modifications to the drone. Specialists from the unit collaborated closely with the manufacturer to ensure the hexacopter's stability during the evacuation and prevent dangerous movements in the air.

They also conducted preliminary tests at sites provided by Gurzuf Defence," the company reported.

Simultaneously, they planned the upcoming operation jointly with adjacent units.

An unmanned aerial vehicle operator from the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade directly piloted the drone.

Participants in the evacuation also included:

The company noted that this marks the world's first evacuation of a wounded serviceman by drone. At the same time, authorities did not disclose the date and location of the operation.

Background

It should be noted that Rubryka recently reported that the Ukrainian company SkyFall developed the StarGate drone for the aerial evacuation of wounded soldiers from hard-to-reach positions. This week, the apparatus was handed over to the military for testing in frontline conditions.

Reports also indicated that the unmanned systems company of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade carried out two missions using unmanned robotic systems and brought out four wounded service members. The brigade noted that this represents a record figure for the unit. Previously, the best result in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade was the evacuation of three comrades over five days using unmanned ground vehicles.
