On the evening of August 16, Russian troops carried out an airstrike on Izium in the Kharkiv region. Officials initially reported four injured people.

Under the procedural guidance of the Izium District Prosecutor's Office in Kharkiv region, pre-trial investigations have been launched into war crimes under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Since the evening of August 16, Russian troops have attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region almost 20 times. Five people were injured in the shelling.

In the Nikopol district, Russian strikes targeted Nikopol, the Marhanets community, and the Pokrovske community. A 51-year-old woman was injured. She is receiving outpatient treatment.

In Pavlohrad, a Russian attack set a private house, an outbuilding, and a car on fire. Four people were injured.

Two women, aged 65 and 87, were hospitalized in moderate condition.

In the Synelnykove district, Russian troops struck the Raiivka and Mykolaivka communities. The shelling set private homes on fire.

On August 16, Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk. One person was killed, and seven others were injured in the attack. A Nova Poshta branch was also destroyed.

According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, at 3:57 p.m., the Russian army used a Geran-2 drone to attack Kramatorsk. It hit a civilian enterprise in the city center.

The explosion killed a 19-year-old employee. Seven other civilians, aged 23 to 42, suffered injuries of varying severity. Their injuries included blast trauma, shrapnel wounds, and concussions.

The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, said Russian troops hit a post office building in Kramatorsk. The branch building was damaged, and officials were still clarifying the final consequences of the shelling at the time.

Later, Nova Poshta reported that a drone strike destroyed its Branch No. 3 in Kramatorsk.

"As a result of a cynical enemy attack on civilian infrastructure in Kramatorsk, our colleague was killed, and four more sustained injuries of varying severity," the company said.

It should be noted that on the night of August 16, Russia struck several Ukrainian cities. Kyiv came under ballistic missile attack, leaving people injured and causing fires and destruction in the capital.

In particular, the Russian attack damaged a book market in Kyiv. Trade pavilions caught fire on the market grounds, and books and vendors' property burned. Three residents were injured in total.
