United to win: UFORCE partners with ReconCraft to produce Ukrainian Magura naval drones in US
According to the WSJ, ReconCraft and UFORCE signed a memorandum of understanding to produce Magura naval drones in the United States last week at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington.
The agreement provides for joint work, under which both companies will support production with:
ReconCraft co-founder Joe Silkowski said the company plans to produce hundreds, and later thousands, of Magura naval drones each year at facilities in Oregon and South Carolina. The parties have not disclosed the deal's value.
UFORCE CEO Oleh Rohynskyi said Ukraine's consent to produce Magura drones in the United States is "absolutely key," as these naval drones will allow the US side to use the lessons, tactics, and operational concepts developed over years of war in Ukraine.
According to Rohynskyi, the partnership means that "these battle-proven capabilities will become available to the United States, combining Ukrainian battlefield innovation with American manufacturing expertise."
In addition to producing naval drones, UFORCE will provide the United States with its uncrewed aerial, naval, and ground systems, as well as autonomous control software and command-and-control technologies, under the partnership.
According to the company, Magura is an unmanned high-speed boat about 7.6 meters long, capable of carrying more than 770 kilograms of payload over more than 560 kilometers. Depending on the configuration, it costs less than 500,000 US dollars.

Oleh Rohynskyi, CEO of UFORCE, which produces Magura unmanned vessels, told Bloomberg that more countries are paying attention to naval drones as a low-cost tool for naval warfare.
According to him, Magura drones have "sunk about 10 Russian warships" during Russia's war against Ukraine, including the large landing ship Caesar Kunikov near Alupka.
Rohynskyi said his company is holding talks with countries in the Indo-Pacific region about these vessels and is considering building at least two production facilities in the region.
It is worth mentioning that soldiers of Ukraine's intelligence became the first in the world to destroy an aerial target using a Magura V5 naval drone.
