Netherlands allocates €500 mln in drones and air defense aid to Ukraine
According to Zelenskyi, the new military aid package totals 500 million euros:
The new commitment raises the Netherlands' total contribution to the PURL program to 1 billion euros. Through the initiative, Ukraine receives air defense equipment and missiles, as well as ammunition for F-16 fighter jets and other weapons systems.
The Netherlands and Ukraine also signed a letter of intent to deepen defense innovation cooperation.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov said the Netherlands has supported Ukraine not only with Patriot air defense systems but also through major investments in drone development.
The minister also welcomed the signing of the memorandum on innovation cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands.
According to Fedorov, the Ukrainian delegation visited one of the Netherlands' leading innovation centers during the trip.
The minister stressed that the Netherlands continues to demonstrate both the scale and quality of its support for Ukraine and its fight for freedom.
He added that Ukraine is ready not only to receive assistance from its partners but also to share its expertise in unmanned systems and the development of modern security technologies.
Earlier, as part of the international naval coalition, Ukraine's Navy received an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasure vessel. Ukrainian naval commanders raised the national flag during a ceremony attended by the heads of several NATO navies.
Ukraine was also reported to become one of the key locations for testing and producing the new RUTA Block 3 long-range missile, being developed by Destinus and Rheinmetall. Flight testing of the system is scheduled for 2027.
