Latvian defence minister arrives in Kyiv

Latvian Defence Minister Raivis Melnis has arrived in Ukraine on his first official foreign visit.

According to Latvian Ministry of Defence, the head of Latvia's Defence Ministry is scheduled to hold several high-level meetings in Kyiv.

The talks are aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two countries, discussing the involvement of Latvian industry in supporting Ukraine's defence sector, and exploring the establishment of joint ventures.

During a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Latvia's new prime minister, the two sides signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of unmanned technologies.

Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine could send experts to the Baltic states to help them improve their defences against Ukrainian drones that stray into their airspace.
