Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis arrives in Kyiv
Ukraine became the first country visited by the newly appointed head of Latvia's Defense Ministry.
A series of high-level meetings with Ukrainian government officials and representatives of the security and defense sector is planned in Kyiv.
The main goal of the visit is to strengthen military cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia.

It should be noted that during a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Latvia's newly appointed prime minister, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation in drone technologies.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi also said Ukraine is preparing groups of experts to send to Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Romania to help these countries counter Russian drones. According to him, Ukrainian experts will advise the militaries of these countries and share knowledge on countering drones, as they have already done in the Middle East.
