Ukraine's armed forces strike oil refinery in Tatarstan and military targets in Russia and occupied territories – General Staff

Officials confirmed hits on the targets and fires on the grounds of both enterprises.

The TANECO oil refining complex is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. Its design capacity exceeds 16 million tonnes of oil per year. The enterprise produces a wide range of fuels and lubricants, including diesel fuel, aviation fuel, and other petroleum products.

TAIF-NK is a major oil refining complex with a high oil conversion rate; after the launch of its heavy-residue deep-processing complex, the company reported this figure at more than 95%. The plant processes heavy, high-sulfur crude oil and gas condensate. Its products serve key segments, ranging from mass-market fuels to raw materials for the petrochemical industry and certain military needs.

Ukrainian forces also struck the Togliattikauchuk plant in Russia's Samara region, which specializes in the production of synthetic rubber, monomers, fractions, and high-octane gasoline additives. The enterprise produces materials used, among other things, in the production of solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles. Officials confirmed the target was hit and that a fire broke out on the plant's territory.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck command and observation posts of Russian troops near Obesta and Iskra in Russia's Kursk region, as well as near Marynske in the Kherson region.

They also struck enemy command posts near Voskresenka and Pokrovsk, as well as a communications hub near Vesele in the Donetsk region.

Among other targets, Ukrainian troops hit an area where enemy personnel were concentrated at the Vostochnyi training ground near Novopetrivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. They also struck a field artillery depot near Rybiantseve in the Luhansk region and an enemy logistics warehouse in Mariupol, Donetsk region.

The General Staff separately updated information on the June 10 strike on the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Russia's Samara region. Officials confirmed hits on the AVT-4 and AVT-5 primary oil processing units, as well as an RVS-2000 storage tank. The enterprise halted operations after the strike.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also said it continues to systematically reduce the Russian aggressor's capacity to wage war against Ukraine.

Background

As reported, on the night of June 12, attack drones targeted temporarily occupied Crimea and several Russian regions. The strikes caused fires at energy and industrial facilities.

It should be noted that on June 10 and overnight into June 11, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck several Russian military, logistics, and industrial facilities. The targets included the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, a site producing unmanned naval vessels in Sevastopol, as well as warehouses and command posts for Russian uncrewed aerial vehicles in the temporarily occupied territories.

It also became known that bridges on land entry routes had been damaged. In particular, the Chonhar Bridge in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region sustained critical damage and is now completely unusable for traffic.
