Ukraine is ready for a trilateral meeting with the US and Russia by the end of October — Zelensky
Media previously reported that representatives of the US, Ukraine, and Russia may meet in October in Abu Dhabi. Possible topics of such a meeting were said to include:
Zelenskyi was asked to comment on the possibility of holding such a meeting.
"I can't share all the details. Yesterday, for example, I spoke with the negotiating team, the American team.
The American side is in contact with Ukraine and with Russia today, and is proposing to somehow hold a technical-level meeting in a trilateral format by the end of October," the president said.
Zelenskyi noted that on October 3 he confirmed the Ukrainian side's readiness to support such a meeting before the end of October.
"There is no new information here; we are open to the UAE or to another country proposed by the American side. I know they will propose this to the Russian side as well, or have already proposed it, I don't know the order of actions.
And we will wait for the response," Zelenskyi added.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said earlier that Kyiv expects proposals from Washington on a date for negotiations.
"We are waiting for proposals from the US on a date," the head of state said.
As previously reported by Rubryka, on September 12 Zelenskyi said he was ready to come to the G20 summit in Miami and meet Putin there if the Russian leader also attends the forum.
According to Zelenskyi, it does not matter what exactly he says to Putin or what Putin says to him.
However, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin turned down Zelenskyi's proposal to meet during the G20 summit in the US. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin is ready to meet Zelenskyi only in Moscow.
It was also reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the American side has invited Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the G20 leaders' summit, which will take place in Miami in December of this year. He also expressed hope that the Kremlin head will agree to come.
Separately, Zelenskyi stated that Ukraine is discussing three possible tracks toward a ceasefire in Russia's war against Ukraine. These are an energy ceasefire, a maritime ceasefire, and the trilateral negotiating format proposed by the American side.
