United to win: Ukraine and Finland sign seven agreements worth €300 mln
Zelenskyi noted that cooperation with the Finnish government continues, and the new agreements will strengthen Ukraine's capabilities in the defense and other vital sectors.
The parties paid special attention to expanding the use of Finnish satellite capabilities.
"We agreed on this with Nokia and ICEYE," the head of state noted.
Finland also stands ready to support Ukrainian logistics and the energy sector, which remain among the primary targets of Russian attacks.
Background
The Finnish company ICEYE owns a unique constellation of microsatellites that utilize Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology. The primary feature of these satellites is their ability to capture high-resolution imagery of the Earth under any conditions: through dense clouds, fog, rain, and in complete darkness.
It is worth adding that in 2022, after consultations with Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, the Prytula Charity Foundation decided to use funds raised for "Bayraktars" to purchase an advanced satellite from ICEYE.
One of the two ICEYE satellites acquired for the Main Directorate of Intelligence continues to operate in Ukraine's interest beyond its original planned lifespan.
As Rubryka previously reported, Finland will allocate a 50-million-euro loan to support Ukraine's reconstruction and economic stability. The funds will flow through a new World Bank Group financing program.
It was also reported that on September 23, Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyi of Ukraine and Alexander Stubb of Finland signed a Drone Deal—an agreement on enhanced defense and security cooperation that creates the framework for joint production of military goods.
