Poland’s Foreign Minister To Russians: “Be Careful, We Have More Combat Aircraft Than You Do”
Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski personally warned Russia against attacking NATO. He primarily emphasized the Alliance’s advantage in combat aviation and its readiness to strike back.
Poland’s top diplomat said this on the program “Front Sikorskiego.” He stressed that NATO would not sit idle if Russia attacked, UATV English reports.
“I told the Russians — including for deterrence purposes: be careful, because we have more combat aircraft than you do. If you do what nobody wants, we won’t just sit back — we’ll respond both defensively and offensively,” Sikorski stated.
As an example of effectively weakening Russia’s military potential, the Polish minister cited Ukrainian strikes on its oil refining infrastructure.
According to his assessment, these attacks have allowed Ukraine to disable between 30% and 40% of Russia’s oil refining capacity, causing problems for both the civilian economy and military logistics.
Sikorski noted that Ukraine achieved this result practically without using combat aviation. At the same time, he believes NATO’s air forces possess far greater capabilities.
The Polish diplomat is also convinced that attacks on Russian oil refining facilities are one of the effective ways to weaken Russia’s ability to continue the war.
It should be recalled that Sikorski earlier stated that Poland has no intention of seeking conflict with Russia, but must prepare for further incidents and demonstrate support for Ukraine. He announced a major military aid package for Kyiv that will be the largest the country has prepared.
As previously reported, during the YES conference in Kyiv, Sikorski spoke of Poland’s and its allies’ significant air superiority over Russia. According to him, if it took Ukraine six months to disable half of Russia’s oil refining capacity, allies could do it in six weeks, and then destroy the rest.
